Running Is For The Birds

Amigos De Bolsa Chica, in partnership with Bolsa Chica State Beach, is set to host the 'Running Is For The Birds' event on April 26, 2025. The event features a variety of activities including a 5K, 10K, 1K fun run, and a unique 5K and 10K plogging option, where participants can pick up litter while jogging. The event aims to raise funds for environmental education programs focusing on coastal California's biodiversity.

Participants can enjoy a scenic run along the beach, starting at 8:00 AM with a family-friendly expo featuring environmental demonstrations and activities. Check-in begins at 7 AM, and the event promises a flat and fast race course with chip timing for the competitive runners. Early registration ensures race t-shirts and free parking before 8 AM. Proceeds from the event will support community-based educational efforts by Amigos de Bolsa Chica, a non-profit organization.
