Race Description
The 18th Annual Matawan Borough 5K Turkey Trot & Fitness Walk is set to take place on Saturday, November 30th, 2024. The event invites families and friends to kick off the holiday season by running off their Thanksgiving dinners on a certified 5k course through the scenic neighborhoods of Matawan. The race will begin at 8:30 AM on historic Main Street, with festivities at Terhune Park, where participants can enjoy music, take photographs, and vie for various awards.
In a nod to community spirit, the event will also support the Matawan Community Food Pantry by collecting non-perishable food items and encouraging monetary donations, aiming for a target of $500. Runners who register before November 8th will receive a guaranteed race shirt, while those who register after may receive one based on availability. This family-centric event not only promotes fitness but also fosters a sense of community and charitable giving during the festive season.
