Race Description
The Christmas Classic 5k at Oak Mountain State Park is set to take place on December 21, 2024. This festive event invites participants to either race for their personal best or enjoy a leisurely hike around the scenic Double Oak Lake with family. The race is designed to be family-friendly, encouraging children to join in the fun while ensuring that more competitive runners start at the front of the line.
This year’s event offers a unique twist with two finish lines: one for those wishing to participate in the Polar Plunge, which requires a $20 donation to benefit the Alabama Wildlife Center, and another for those who prefer to skip the plunge. Participants can enjoy various festivities, including a post-race brunch, a tie-dye station, and a chance to win awards for the tackiest sweater. All attendees must pay a $5 admission fee to Oak Mountain State Park.
