Race Description
The Charlie Stavros Memorial Beach Run is a yearly three-mile race taking place at Westerly Town Beach, Rhode Island. This free event is organized by the Westerly Track Club in honor of Charlie Stavros, a local runner who tragically lost his life during a race in 1993. Scheduled for September 9, 2024, participants will enjoy a scenic run along the beach during low tide.
The race features a 1.5-mile turn-around, allowing runners to experience a flat and enjoyable course. Registration is currently open, and participants are encouraged to join this community event that not only celebrates running but also commemorates a beloved local figure.
