Race Description
The 2025 13th Annual Black Squirrel 5K Walk/Run and 1-Mile Walk/Roll/Run is set to take place on April 12, 2025, at Kent State University. This annual spring race invites participants of all abilities to enjoy a loop course that begins and ends near the Beverly J. Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Runners will experience the beautiful campus, marked by a scenic Esplanade route, with the opportunity to spot the university's playful black squirrel mascot.
Registration is currently open with varying fees based on registration dates, and participants registered by March 24 will receive a T-shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, along with medals for age group contenders. The event promises a fun-filled day, encouraging participants to share their experience on social media using the hashtag #KSU2024BlackSquirrel. All proceeds go towards supporting campus wellness initiatives.
