Race Description
The inaugural Writers in Residence’s Juvenile Justice 5k is set to take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Forest Picnic Area in North Chagrin Reservation, Willoughby, OH. This event aims to support youth involved in the juvenile justice system through creative writing and mentorship programs, encouraging the belief in second chances during April, which is recognized as Second Chance Month.
Participants can choose to enter either a chip-timed 5K or a 1-mile nonchip-timed walk. Registration fees vary based on the date of sign-up, with early birds receiving discounted rates. The event promises to provide every registrant with a T-shirt, refreshments after the race, and a chapbook, while awards will recognize top male and female finishers and age group winners.
