Race Description
The Veins of Gold 2024 race is set to take place at the Government Peak Recreation Area in Palmer, Alaska, on August 16, 2025. This challenging event will cover a distance of approximately 8 miles with a significant vertical gain of around 5,000 feet. Participants will traverse a variety of terrains, including steep uphill trails and rugged mountain trails, making it important for runners to be adequately prepared for changing weather conditions and tough trail specifics.
Registration for the event will open on November 4, 2024, and will close on August 3, 2025. A portion of the registration fees will support the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group, which provides volunteer search and rescue services during the race. Participants must be aware of their surroundings and are required to carry essential gear, including food supplies and protective clothing, to ensure their safety throughout the event.
