Race Description
The Des Moines Turkey Trot, recognized as one of the 'Top Turkey Trots In The Country' by Runners World Magazine, is set to be held on Thanksgiving Day and is Iowa's largest holiday running tradition. Participants will run through notable landmarks in downtown Des Moines, making it a perfect outing for both locals and visiting family members to enjoy.
Runners will start the race at the Des Moines Courthouse, proceed over the Des Moines River, and navigate through the Historic East Village before tackling a slight incline around the State Capitol Complex. The scenic course culminates with the 5 Mile runners making their way to the Botanical Center before finishing through the heart of downtown Des Moines.
