Race Description
The Derby Run, an annual event held in memory of Justin Lopes, will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, beginning at Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville, NC. Participants can choose from several distances including a timed 10K, a timed 5K, and an untimed 1 Mile Fun Run, along with a free 50 Yard Dash for children aged 10 and under. The event will also provide activities such as face painting, a selfie station, and a silent auction, fostering a family-friendly atmosphere.
This year, the event encourages participants to wear their most creative Derby Run hats or costumes for a chance to win prizes in various categories. Proceeds from the race will support local charities focused on child welfare, including the Child Advocacy Center and the Justin Richard Lopes Memorial Scholarship. Registration is open online before the event, and parking is available at the venue.
