Race Description
The Blazing 5k and Mile, one of the fastest 5k races in the Midwest, is set to take place on October 5th, 2025, at Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa. This event also serves as the USATF Iowa Road 5k State Championship, attracting elite runners and participants from various backgrounds.
In its sixth annual edition, the race will feature a USATF certified flat and fast loop course, with significant prize money totaling $2850 plus additional bonuses for course records. Spectators will have ample viewing opportunities as participants complete the course, culminating in a thrilling finish down a long straightaway.
