Race Description
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount will host the annual Tackle the Tar 5K Obstacle Course Race and Family Fun Day at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex. The event kicks off with a Kid’s 1-mile fun run at 8:45 A.M., followed by various festivities ending around noon.
All proceeds from this event are dedicated to funding college scholarships for deserving students in the Rocky Mount Area. Since its inception in 2016, the event has successfully raised over $510,000 in scholarships, significantly impacting the local youth community. Participants can expect a challenging 5K course filled with over 20 obstacles, including a mud pit, along with a T-shirt, medal, and goodie bag for each racer.
