Race Description
The Swim for Alligator Lighthouse is set to challenge open water swimmers with its 8-mile route in the Florida Keys. Scheduled for September 13, 2025, participants will embark on a course that includes swimming 4 miles to Alligator Lighthouse, circling the landmark, and then returning another 4 miles to shore. This event, which is known for its unique setting and community spirit, started in 2013 to raise awareness and funds for the preservation of the lighthouse.
Backed by the Fighting Manatee Swim Club, the event encourages individuals and teams of up to four swimmers, each required to have kayak support throughout the swim. Registration is currently open for swimmers looking to take on this challenging adventure. Full details and registration information can be found on the event's official website.
