Race Description
The SMHS PAC and HSEP Gumbo Run 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run is set to take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Scotlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The event aims to promote health and fitness in the North Baton Rouge community and supports the SMHS NAF Academies through fundraising efforts. Registration for the race is currently open, and all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
Participants can look forward to a full schedule on race day, with registration starting at 8:00 AM, followed by guest speakers and a warm-up session. The 1-mile fun run will kick off at 9:00 AM, followed by the 5K run/walk at 9:30 AM. All racers will be treated to gumbo upon finishing, with awards presented for overall and age-group winners. Entry fees range from $10 to $25 depending on the category, and all participants will receive a t-shirt and bib number.
