Race Description
The Running Fence Run, a marathon celebrating democracy and art, will take place from September 11 to September 13, 2025, in Cotati, California. This unique event commemorates the 2,514th anniversary of the original marathon as well as the 50th anniversary of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's Running Fence art installation.
Participants can choose between a marathon (26.2 miles) or a 10K on a scenic course. The event will feature a special memorial ceremony for 9/11 victims and a range of festive activities including live music and food trucks. This race aims to honor democratic ideals, artistic expression, and community spirit.
