Race Description
Run Hope Work is gearing up for its annual Run For A Better Life event, scheduled for October 20, 2024. The race will feature a 5K run along a fast, flat, out-and-back course in Anacostia Park, starting from the Roller Skating Pavilion at 8:30 am. In addition, there will be a free 1 Mile Fun Run for children ages 17 and under, commencing at 8:00 am.
This annual event aims to raise awareness and support for Run Hope Work, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering local youth by offering running programs, mindfulness training, and workforce development. The event also honors the memory of the organization's founder, Jose Ortiz, who passed away in a bike accident last year. His legacy continues through the mission of helping the community combat poverty and violence.
