Race Description
The Rae of Sunshine 5K is set to take place on June 28, 2025, in Pittston, Pennsylvania, to honor the memory of Raeann Rose Merlino and to raise funds for a Memorial Scholarship in her name. Raeann, who passed away at the young age of 10, is remembered fondly for her vibrant personality and love for dance, animals, and helping others. The race aims to bring the community together in celebration and remembrance.
Participants can expect a heartfelt event starting at 9:00 AM with pre-entry packet pickup beginning at 8:00 AM. Runners and walkers will enjoy a course through the streets of Hughestown Boro, with awards for the top finishers in various age groups, including cash prizes for the top male and female runners. The first 50 registrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, making this event both competitive and memorable.
