Race Description
The 11th Annual Race for the Summitt 5K is set to take place on September 21, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Organized by pharmacy students at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, the event supports The Pat Summitt Foundation, which is dedicated to Alzheimer’s research and awareness. Participants can look forward to a scenic 5K route that includes portions of Third Mile Creek and Neyland Greenways.
This year’s race honors the legacy of Pat Summitt, the former head coach of the Lady Vols, who made a remarkable impact on women's athletics. Registration for the event is currently open, and participants are encouraged to involve family and friends as Memory Donors to contribute to the cause. The race aims to celebrate Coach Summitt's incredible career and to further the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
