Race Description
The Polar Run and Plunge 5K is set to take place on February 8, 2025, at the Big Stone Gap Visitor Center in Virginia. This event marks the starting highlight of The Polar Festival, featuring a unique combination of a 5K frozen race and an exhilarating polar plunge at the finish line. Participants will have the option to either plunge only or to participate in the race and plunge, with all entries receiving a commemorative event shirt.
Registration for the event is currently open, with an early bird fee of $50 until February 7, after which the fee will increase to $55 on race day. All plunge participants are encouraged to bring towels and dry clothing, as fire pits will be available to keep them warm after the plunge. Besides the thrilling race and plunge, attendees can enjoy live music, food, and other activities throughout the festival, making it a fun-filled day for everyone involved.
