Race Description
The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two Mile Race is set to take place on August 16, 2025, in downtown Parkersburg, West Virginia. The half marathon, which begins at 8:00 a.m., features a scenic route that includes the rolling hills of West Virginia, finishing with a celebratory atmosphere along Market Street during the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade. Participants can expect a memorable experience, complete with a tech shirt, a finishers medal, and a post-race pizza luncheon.
The accompanying Two Mile Race begins shortly after at 8:10 a.m., starting at the Towne Square Parking Garage. As the RRCA West Virginia Championship, this race will also award all finishers with a T-shirt. Participants are encouraged to partake in the pre-race events, including a pasta dinner and a free half marathon course bus tour, making it a community-focused occasion for local running enthusiasts and visitors alike.
