Race Description
The Ocracoke Island Weekend Runfest, featuring the 14th Annual Scallywag 5K/10K and 10th Annual Blackbeard's Half Marathon, is set to take place on April 26-27, 2025. This event offers an exciting opportunity for participants to take part in either the 5K or 10K on the first day, followed by the Half Marathon on the second, culminating in the Lt. Maynard's Challenge for those who wish to tackle all three races.
This weekend of running serves as a benefit for several local organizations including Ocracoke Community Radio WOVV and Ocracoke School Athletic Boosters Club. With packet pickup available on April 25 and early race morning adjustments, runners can enjoy the scenic course on Ocracoke Island while contributing to community support. Unique finisher items and awards will be given out, and this event welcomes participants of all capabilities, including walkers and those with strollers.
