Race Description
The Oakland Tech Cross Country and Track Team is set to host their annual fundraiser event, the Oakland Tech 5km Fundraiser Race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, on November 3rd, 2024, at Joaquin Miller Park. This scenic location in Oakland provides both a challenging course for competitive runners and a beautiful environment for leisurely participants. The fundraiser aims to support the team's expenses, including meet entry fees, training equipment, nutrition, and travel costs for away races.
Participants can look forward to the 1 mile Fun Run/Walk starting at 9:00 am, followed by the 5 km Trail Race at 9:30 am. Bib pick-up will take place on November 2nd and on the day of the event before the races begin. The event not only promotes physical fitness and community spirit but also the impressive track record of Oakland Tech's varsity XC teams, which have excelled in recent championships. Tax-deductible donations are encouraged for those who wish to support the team but cannot attend the race.
