Race Description
The Mountain Strong-8 Hour Ultra is set to take place on September 27, 2025, in Bakersville, NC. This race commemorates the anniversary of Hurricane Helene, a storm that caused significant destruction in the area. The event invites participants to walk or run for eight hours, with no fixed distance, as part of the community's healing process following the disaster.
Participants will enjoy access to food and aid every time they pass the start line, making this a well-supported ultramarathon experience. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Mitchell County Parks and Recreation Department to aid in the reconstruction of local parks and playgrounds. Each runner will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt and a medal, regardless of the time they spend on the course.
