Race Description
The MikeyStrong 5K Fun Run / Walk is set to take place on November 26, 2024, at The Mikey Goodwin Playground at James H. Nance Park in Indialantic, Florida. This annual event honors the memory of Mikey Goodwin, a student athlete who lost his battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a severe type of brain cancer. Participants are encouraged to join this fun run to support cancer research and to honor Mikey and others affected by this disease.
The event will feature a 5K run and a 1-mile walk, along with Mikey's Turkey Dash, a short run for children aged 12 and under. Proceeds from the event will fund research initiatives aimed at finding treatments for DIPG and supporting families facing this challenging diagnosis. With a combination of fun, awareness, and community support, the MikeyStrong Fun Run embraces its mission to raise funds to help find a cure and bring hope to affected families.
