Race Description
The 3rd annual Mardi Gras Mile is set to take place on March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM, in New Bern's Historic Ghent. This festive race will kick off the New Bern Mardi Gras Festival, offering a unique opportunity for runners to enjoy the support of the crowd dressed in vibrant Mardi Gras costumes. Registration is currently open through Run the East, with proceeds benefiting the We Can Be Association, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting exceptional children in Eastern North Carolina.
Participants can register for the event for $20 until February 1, 2025, after which the fee will increase to $25 up until race day. Awards will be presented for the overall top finishers and age group winners, with additional race goodies, including customized Mardi Gras beads and drink tickets for all registered runners. The race will also feature road closures due to the festival activities, so attendees are advised to plan their arrival accordingly.
