Race Description
The Strickland Family is set to host the 2nd Annual Leah's Legacy 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk, and Kid's Fun Run on September 22, 2024, at 5:00 PM in Charleston, WV. Following a successful inaugural event in 2023, which welcomed nearly 500 participants, organizers are anticipating an increased turnout in the upcoming year.
This event, starting and ending at Charleston City Center (Slack Plaza), aims to honor the memory of Leah Strickland, a dedicated athlete who tragically lost her life in a car accident. The proceeds will support a Memorial Scholarship Fund for high school seniors who embody Leah's spirit and character. Various award categories will be available, including top overall male and female as well as age group distinctions.
