Race Description
The inaugural Kentucky Derby Festival 5K is set to take place on April 25, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. This event will kick off a full weekend of racing festivities, which also includes the traditional GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon on the following day. The 5K is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on Friday and will feature a looped course that begins and ends at Harbor Lawn in Waterfront Park, with a highlight being a lap on the Big 4 Bridge.
Participants in the Kentucky Derby Festival 5K will each receive a finisher's medal and a T-shirt to commemorate their run. Additionally, runners who complete both the 5K and the GE Appliances miniMarathon or Marathon will be eligible for a special challenge medal, further enhancing the event's appeal for those seeking a rewarding racing challenge.
