Race Description
On October 26, 2024, the FR vs Cancer 5K & 1 Mile Walk will take place in Murrysville, PA, to support CJ Cassidy, a beloved math teacher at Franklin Regional Middle School who is currently battling aggressive Stage 4 cancer. The event, organized by the FR student club and local supporters, aims to raise funds to help offset the financial burdens associated with her medical challenges and provide her with ongoing support.
Participants can register for the 5K, which will begin sharply at 9 AM, followed by a 1-mile walk starting at 9:05 AM. Registration takes place from 7:30 AM to 8:50 AM in the rear lobby of Franklin Regional High School. An opening ceremony at 8:50 AM will honor the nation’s flag and feature the National Anthem. With expectations of strong community turnout, this event marks another step in rallying support for CJ and her family during this difficult time.
