Race Description
The Empire State Building Run-Up (ESBRU) is set to take place on October 9, 2024, challenging runners to ascend 1,576 stairs of the iconic New York landmark. This unique tower race is renowned as the world’s first and most famous of its kind, attracting elite tower-running athletes from around the globe.
Participants in the ESBRU will compete to conquer the 86 flights of the Empire State Building, with the fastest runners completing the ascent in approximately 10 minutes. Unlike the general public who can reach the Observatory via an elevator, competitors will put their endurance to the test in this remarkable vertical race.
