The Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial Swim is set to take place from July 26 to August 27, 2025, in Paradise, Michigan. This event commemorates the 50th anniversary of the infamous sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior, an incident that claimed the lives of 29 sailors.
This extraordinary swim features a unique 17-stage relay covering 411 miles, where up to 68 swimmers will recreate the tragic route of the Edmund Fitzgerald, symbolically delivering iron ore from the dock in Superior, Wisconsin. Participants will not only honor those lost but also contribute to a documentary chronicling this historic event.
