Death By a Mile

The "Death By a Mile" race is set to take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Skeetawk Ski Area in Palmer, Alaska. Participants will have the option to race for 4, 6, or 12 hours, completing as many one-mile loops as possible on the scenic Meadow Loop trail. The event aims to provide a fun and challenging atmosphere for runners of all levels to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Hatcher Pass.

Runners will check in at the Skeetawk parking lot with the first wave starting at 8 AM. The course involves a mix of gravel paths and looped terrain, promising a total elevation gain of approximately 200 feet per loop. Aid stations will supply hydration and snacks, while runners are encouraged to bring personal nutrition items and camping gear for comfort during the event. This unique race format aims to foster a sense of community among participants, with awards and recognition for the top finishers in each time category.
