Race Description
On Saturday, November 2, 2024, the Calla's 5k Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk for TID will take place along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This event aims to raise funds for Breakthrough T1D, an organization dedicated to type 1 diabetes research, inspired by the personal story of Dana McHugh and her daughter Calla, who was diagnosed with the condition last year.
Participants can register for the timed 5K race or the untimed 1 mile fun walk. The event will feature age group awards along with raffle prizes, with winners being announced following the race. Registration is currently open, and those who sign up by September 30 will receive a race t-shirt. All proceeds will support vital research for type 1 diabetes, helping to improve the lives of those affected by this chronic condition.
