Race Description
On October 26th, 2024, the Broward County Public School’s Equity, Diversity, & School-Climate 5K will take place at the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Hosted by the Broward Education Foundation, this event aims to raise awareness about crucial mentoring and prevention programs offered by BCPS, while honoring the legacy of Jason Jenkins, a notable figure in the Miami Dolphins community service efforts.
The 5K event is not just a race; it incorporates community service efforts such as a food drive. Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods that will be donated to a local food bank for Thanksgiving. The registration will commence at 6:00 AM, with the race starting at 7:00 AM, and a registration fee of $35 is required to participate. Proceeds from the event will support the ongoing success of the mentoring programs within the schools.
