Race Description
The seventh annual Breast Reconstruction Awareness Close the Loop 5K will take place in San Diego, CA on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 7:00 AM PST. This race, organized by The Plastic Surgery Foundation, aims to raise awareness and funds for breast reconstruction care and research, bringing together plastic surgeons, patients, and the public.
Breast cancer affects approximately 1 in 8 women in the U.S., making awareness and financial support for reconstruction options critical. Funds raised from this event will support organizations dedicated to assisting women confronting breast cancer and pursuing reconstructive surgery, with over $2 million already allocated through the foundation's grants.
