Race Description
The Badwater Salton Sea ultra running experience is set to return to the Anza-Borrego Desert on April 26-27, 2025, marking the twelfth edition of this challenging race. The event features a unique team format where groups of two or three ultrarunners will navigate a grueling 81-mile course from Salton City to Palomar Mountain, an elevation change from 234 feet below sea level to nearly 5500 feet above.
As participants prepare for this extreme challenge, they face difficult weather conditions that can swing from triple-digit heat during the day to freezing temperatures at night. With a limit of just 100 runners, this year's race promises to be both exhilarating and demanding, continuing the tradition of past events that have garnered widespread acclaim.
