The 6000 Sisters, 6000 Steps for Hope Breast Cancer Walk & Health Expo is set to take place on September 28, 2024, at the Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Organized by Sisters Network Dallas Inc., the event aims to raise awareness about breast cancer, particularly highlighting the plight of the 6,000 African American women who lose their battle with the disease each year in the United States.
Participants can register for the untimed 3-mile walk, which represents approximately 6,000 steps, to celebrate breast cancer survivors and remember those who have been lost. Registration fees are $30 for adults and $20 for students aged 12-18, and proceeds will support programs offering survivor support, screenings, and educational efforts in breast health. Special fundraising opportunities are also available, with prizes for top fundraisers.
